    Highly Targeted Consumers Catch
    The Spirit Through SoundCare
    Hattiesburg Mississippi is home to 512 bed Forrest General Hospital. Strong on women’s services, Forrest General became a Spirit of Women Member Hospital in June of 2004. This relationship has provided a well-known umbrella under which Forrest General can more effectively market its centers of excellence for women’s services.

    Forrest General has also been a long-time user of Vericom’s SoundCare on hold communications solution. Millie Swan, Director of Marketing and Physician Relations, oversees both the Spirit of Women program and SoundCare. She saw an immediate connection between the two services, and as a result has been using SoundCare to cost-effectively extend Forrest General’s marketing programs to thousands of additional, highly targeted consumers every month. Callers placed on hold at Forrest General already have or desire a relationship with the hospital, making them more open to receiving messages from marketing. “SoundCare is a great tool for supporting our marketing programs, it provides a valuable conduit to a highly targeted and captive audience. I am a strong believer in finding alternative ways to provide consumers with information,” says Swan.

    The Marketing department always adds essential information concerning Spirit of Women branded services and events to its monthly SoundCare program—especially those tied to their centers of excellence: cardiovascular, cancer, women & children,and behavioral health. With SoundCare, Forrest General has found a communications tool that can be customized in real time to reflect its most current programs and event information.

    SoundCare messages also drive home those important calls-to-action, steering consumers to Forrest General’s FGH OnCall line where they can register for an event or get more information.

    Forrest General Hospital also relies on SoundCare to support important service lines outside of Spirit of Women. “Vericom provides us with ideas and information every month that we can connect directly to our current marketing programs,” says Swan. “For example, obesity and diabetes are subjects that are very important to ussince Mississippi leads the nation in numbers of these cases. Vericom provides us with innovative ideas that support our obesity and diabetes-related programs, events, and observances. We are involved in so many things here at Forrest General, and I like the fact that Vericom’s monthly message ideas match very well with our hot issues. Vericom takes the time to understand our needs. As a result they are very much in sync with what we are doing every month.”

    Spirit of Women programs and SoundCare have provided a winning combination for Forrest General.
